...with the IPhone. I really thought I could resist it but after checking out the demos on their web-site I don't think I'll be able to stay away when it comes calling :( See for yourself - its looks brilliant - http://www.apple.com/iphone/phone/
Of course, I can see several practical problems with the phone. All that finger scrolling is going to mess up the screen pretty quickly.
And I hope they're building scratch resistant screens for the nailcutter-ly-challenged denizens of the fashion world.

One of its main feature is that you can call up your friends and say "I am using an iPhone"
Go for it dude
but dude the soft keyboard sucks. and its a qwerty one for gods sake! whats a phone that doesnt allow you to go click click irritating click with your thumb???
I thikn this time apples' lost it. its just a cheap tactic to win back the ipod/mp3 market.

I think you should get back to writing quality stuff......

We will worry about it(iphone) once it gets here. Hopefully it doesn't break like the intial Nano's..

I think iPhone (or whatever it's called) is artfully designed and is just as usable. Also different users have different preferences, and that's why cell-phone vendors painstakingly make so many models. I personally love qwerty phones (especially my Nokia E61) because I use phones mainly for reading/writing emails not for phone calls. (If I were Steve Jobs I would not call that thing a phone at all. I would also not name it after some distasteful fruit :-) ).
Also, I hope Steve Jobs has learned from Moto's Razor failure that one hit wonders are just that: One hit wonders, not sustainable business. If iPhone is to be successful, Apple needs to have more than one model, mass produced and that's something Apple historically has not been very good at.
@Abhay
What is that chick doing on this post? Don't tell me she is there because of her finger-nails. Man, some people are just dumb lucky.
@ uday Chandra
Man some people are just so difficult to please :)
@ Spy
Yeah she's there because of her finger-nails - I think Apple has completely not forgotten that customer segment in deisgning their phone!
It also helps to have your pic turn up in a search on google images :))

Occupational hazard, you know. I'm also *required* to have public opinions on arcane things no one else cares about.
Google too needs to take it easy, though :-)
@spy- yes, qwerty is great when you want to send/read email- but then i find the tiny qwerty's highly irritating. If i see a qwerty i want to be able to rest my elbows, flex my wrists and start typing wiyh two finger.s ok. maybe i have giant fingers.
and the other thing Apple needs to worry about is the tie-ups with various Network providers. Like Nokia has with several others. Historically, aPple has never been good at working with other companies.
i liked the iphone too. however, i usually buy the second model of such a product.
checked your blog after a few days and you _are_ on a roll. fandoo.
is the spy here our very own swamy prem yogesh?
Kakkar, is that you? I've jogged my memory but cannot think of any other Arjun that I know of. My apologies if you are not Arjun Kakkar.
Though I love all things Apple, I won't get an iPhone ever. I hate large phones and I really don't want one with internet access. I don't like being on the internet all the time, and though it offers SO much convenience, it removes that much more from life, in it's own way.
But it's a gorgeous phone and intuitive as only Apple can do.
